How to find duplicates across two sheets in Google Sheets

Highlight values that also appear in another sheet; conditional formatting needs INDIRECT for that.

Conditional formatting cannot reference another sheet directly, so wrap the range in INDIRECT. On Sheet1, select A2:A → Format → Conditional formatting → Custom formula:

=COUNTIF(INDIRECT("Sheet2!A:A"), A2)>0

Helper column instead (B2, fill down):

=IF(COUNTIF(Sheet2!A:A, A2)>0, "Also in Sheet2", "")

CleanRows → Compare → Rows ALSO in the other sheet highlights or copies them without formulas.

Do it in two clicks inside Google Sheets. CleanRows highlights, deletes or moves duplicates by the columns you pick, ignores case/spaces/accents and compares two sheets. Free up to 1,000 rows. Get CleanRows →
